The Pocono Mountains encompass the North Eastern border of Pennsylvania. The region is known for its diverse trails, breathtaking waterfalls, and inspiring views. Being only a couple hours drive from major cities such as New York or Pittsburgh, the region quickly became a popular vacation spot for folks that wanted to get out of the city for a quiet weekend in the woods.
The region rose to fame in the mid-20th century as a popular spot for couples and newlyweds. With its bountiful resorts and picturesque backdrops, the Poconos carries a romantic air. In 1963, Caesars Cove Haven Resort introduced the iconic heart shaped tub, solidifying this region as the "Honeymoon Capital of the World."
The Poconos began to lose popularity in the 1990s as vacationers were looking for resorts that were more inclusive for families. Thus, these once infamous getaways fall out of fashion, succumb to mismanagement, and are often left completely abandoned. Barely operational and heavily mismanaged, our story starts at one of these once infamous resorts deep within the rolling hills of the Poconos.
